Message from the Swedish Migration:
People stranded in Sweden can extend their entry visas free
- 16/4/2010
Anyone who cannot leave Sweden because of the flight ban in Northern Europe can extend his or her entry visa free at any of the permit units of the Migration Board. If you are at an airport you can turn to the border police who can extend your visa.

Transport in Stockholm
Stockholm is well connected to all major cities in the world through its international airports. A
high-speed train
service takes visitors downtown Stockholm in only 20 minutes from the main airport Arlanda. There are three other airports. Skavsta airport is particularly focusing on budget travel within Europe.
Public transportation
in Stockholm is excellent with frequent metro trains, buses, and local trains. In addition, downtown Stockholm offers most of its sites (including KTH) within walking distance.

Public transportation
Bus and metro tickets must be bought in advance. The bus drivers do not sell any tickets on board. You can buy tickets at the SL Centers, located at the Central Station in the lower hall, or at any of following metro stations: T-Centralen, Slussen, Gullmarsplan, Fridhemsplan, Tekniska Högskolan. Other ticket agents, like Pressbyrån, have the SL logo clearly visibly displayed.

NSF-sponsored student travel grants
A limited number of NSF-sponsored student travel grants is available to support student participants from US universities. Each award will be limited to between $800 and $1000. Applications are asked to submit a letter from the graduate advisor or chair verifying the current
student status.
Funds will be provided upon submission of the receipts and require that a US air carrier be used for travel (if reimbursement is sought for air travel).
Students from minorities and under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Request for travel grants with letter from the advisor or department chair must be e-mailed to:

Some participants may need a visa to come to CPS Week 2010 in Stockholm.
Citizens from the following countries
need a visa to visit Sweden. The visa is obtained through application to your closest
Swedish embassy or consulate

To apply for visa you need a letter of invitation from CPS Week local steering committee in Sweden.
